Sf. Mihai or Archangel Michael was mentioned to me in particular by an ex-cop turned Santeria Priest named Rob at a Botanica about 20 years ago. Since then I’ve had a keen interest in this leader of the other archangels. I have often identified with the warrior archetype and he is a warrior. In the past I’ve made some sketches of him, this is the first mixed media work, paint […]
Popular culture art with an original mixed media work of Aurora the young singer songwriter. Combining traditional art creation processes with technology including deep dream, digital painting and working with layers upon layers there are many iterations of one image that all started with a piece of paper, paint, conte crayon, carbon and pastels. Here is a gallery with some of the final digital images.

Almost every painter I have ever studied has many sides to themselves with very few exceptions. The longer their life, the more diverse ….maybe? At some point in the early 90s I was exposed to Pavol Filonov (Russian 1882-1941)

I don’t know anyone who doesn’t know about or dislikes Van Gogh. The beloved painter sold only one painting during his lifetime. He is best known for his sunflower paintings series and starry night paintings. He often made several versions of a topic. He also is know for suffering from mental illness and slicing off his own ear. But did you know that Simon & Schuster’s logo is based on […]
